AGENDA ITEM: Fire Chief’s Report
Our latest three members have all passed their FF1, Hazmat, and FF2 classes. Two of these
three will need to take First Responder class and one of those will need to get his Class B
Lic/Tanker End.
We have one member, Justin Hunt, who joined the department on July 12, 2016 that needs
to get his Class B lic w/Tanker endorsement done. He had 2 years from his start date to
complete all his minimum requirements. He was unable to get this done, so to follow what
we have done in the past, the investigating committee has put him on suspension until he
gets this taken care of.
We have gotten great response from the public when we are out with our new Class A
Uniforms (With the approval of the Fire Board in February, the department purchased new
Class A uniforms for 24 members, with the funding coming all out of our General Fire Relief
account. We have 4 members who are on probation yet and will get theirs when all their
requirements are completed. We also have 2 members that chose not to get them yet
because they are uncertain about the future with the department at this time.)
