BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The Fire Board has recommended
the City Council accept the proposal of C & L Excavating to replace the pavement at the Fire Facility.
The project is funded through Fire Board CIP Funds.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Fire Board has been discussing the need to replace the parking
lot for the last couple of years and has been setting aside funding through the CIP to complete the work.
After considerable discussion, the Fire Board agreed to complete the improvements in 2017 using
dedicated CIP funds and advancing a portion from 2018. The fire fund will self -finance the proposed
improvements.
Note: The Fire Board had also received a quote to repair the parking area at a cost of $ 8,500 but did not
see that as a long term use.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: Up to $ 50,000

L Excavating to replace the parking areas at the Fire Hall at a cost not to exceed $ 50,000 (which includes
striping)
