HomeMy WebLinkAbout[04e] Outdoor Liquor Events Council Agenda Item 4e MEETING DATE: August 21, 2017 AGENDA ITEM: Outdoor Liquor Events – Requested Action: Authorize execution of two outdoor liquor permits for Bad Habit Brewing for the following dates: September 9, 2017 – 2 PM to 7 PM and September 23, 2017 – 2 PM to 8 PM SUBMITTED BY: Administration PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Issuance of the required liquor license to operate an on sale liquor establishment/ BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Ordinance 701 includes a provision for outdoor liquor events. Establishments can apply for an outdoor event provided they submit an application that includes details about the event and includes information regarding security, site management and noise. The application is then forwarded to the Police Chief for review. The outdoor sales can only occur on property in control of the license holder and must be connected. In the case of Bad Habit Brewing, they are requesting an outdoor event that includes the parking are that they do not have control of, however, it is connected. Therefore, Bad Habit Brewing has received authorization from the property owner of the parking lot to grant permission to use the parking area. The parking area is contiguous to the patio area so it is connected and a permit can be secured. The applications has been reviewed by the Police Chief and he has recommended the Council approve. From Administration, the applicant has provided all the required information and there is nothing the prohibit approval of the events.
