HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017 [08] Aug 28 ._ � St Joseph Park Board Minutes Au�ust 28,201� 6:00 p.m. Cloverdale Park Members Present: John Anderson(Chairman), Marguerite Fogarty(Secretary), Andrew Deuhs, Sharon Rennie, Matt Killam(Councilor Liaison), Terry Thene(Staff Liaison), Alyssa Rennie 1. Call to Order: 5:56 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes: Approved 3. Approval of A�enda: Approved 4. Treasurer's Report: Laurie Bartlett attended the meeting to answer any questions and explain the report. Sharon made a motion to approve the report. John seconded. The report was approved unanimously. 5. Liaison Reports: a. Matt Killam: The City's preliminary budget has been approved. A change has been made in the fee structure for liquor license holders. b. Terry Thene: Because of the ample rain,the crew has been busy mowing. He had no vandalism to report. 6. Old Business: a. Millstream Update: The stone accent is being placed. Seamless steel siding will be above the stone. Windows,that were not part of the original plan, have been added to the south and east sides. Stonework is going up inside of the pavilion. Terry is getting bids for polishing concrete floors. Round and rectangular tables have been ordered.Electric and plumbing work has begun. b. Summer Recreation 2018 District 742 Community Education: The City has some money budgeted for Community Education. We are waiting for a date to meet with Community Education group. c. East Park Direction Forward: Application has been made to Initiative Foundation. A $10,000 grant is being requested. October 6t''is the deadline to place requests. We should hear the decision shortly after that date. A bonding request has been submitted at the State Level. A new suggestion came from John. He suggested establishing a tree nursery budget for the existing soybean field. d. Initiative Foundation Grant-Plannin�East Park: See above . e. Bud�et Considerations for 2018: Pickle Ball Court, estimated cost$3,200 Play Area at Millstream; Terry suggested we come up with a plan for placing equipment and where volleyball should go. Repairs to Monument;John suggested we budget for those repairs. Estimated cost is $35,000 f. Do�Park Final Expense: Terry will get a price for running water to the Dog Park. g. Other Old Business: None . .. t 7. New Business• a. Renaming East Park-a citizen involved process: Discussion was held regarding how to invite citizens to vote for a name. We will continue this discussion. b. Photography of Parks qro�ress report: We were reminded to take pictures of the parks assigned to each of us. All seasons reflected would be ideal. c. Other New Business: We are tentatively planning to hold the next meeting at Millstream Park. John suggested we hold an election to designate a chairperson. Adjournment: 6:50 / �
