PREVIOUS EDA ACTION:
In 2014, the EDA recommended and the City Council approved utilization
of TIF for a multi-use residential/commercial development project entitled 24 North College (formerly
Bayou Blues). In 2017 the EDA recommended and the City Council approved an extension to the
completion date and extend the term of the note by one year.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The developer, Jon Petters, has been working to secure tenants
for the lower level of the multi-use structure and needed to find the tenant for the lower level. At this
time Petters is requesting the Planning Commission and City Council approve a modification to the PUD
to allow for three handicap units on the main level. This matter will be heard by the Planning
Commission in October. At the same time Petters is requesting that the City review the interest rate of
the note as it was approved with a rate of 4%. Staff is working with the City TIF consultant to determine
the correct procedures and approvals needed.
