AGENDA ITEM: Recomendation of Officers
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The position of Assistant Fire Chief for a 2 year term is open this year.
The current Assistant,Justin Honer Retired in October 2017.
There were four members who applied (Ken Jacobson, Paul Phillip, Dave Salzer, &Shirlie Brill). After
reviewing the background of all four,the Chief would recommend Dave Salzer to the position of
Assistant Fire Chief for the next 2 year term.
We had six members apply for the 3 2-year and 1 1-year positions of Captain. They are Ken Jacobson,
(current), Dan Muyres(current), Keith Louwagie (current),Andy Loso, Mike Folkerts, and Shirlie Brill.
The Fire departments investigating committee met and discussed and are making a recommendation to
the Fire Board for Ken Jacobson, Dan Muyres,and Keith Louwagie for the 3 2-year Captains positions,
and Andy Loso for the 1 year Captain position.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: No
ATTACHMENTS: No
REQUESTED ACTION: Have the Fire Board approve the recommendations of Officers made by the Fire
Chief and the Departments Investigating committee.
