HomeMy WebLinkAbout[03] October Minutes St Joseph Park Board Minutes October 23, 2017 6:00 p.m. New Millstream Shelter Members Present: John Anderson (Chairman), Marguerite Fogarty (Secretary), Andrew Deuhs, Jodi Keehr, Matt Killam (Councilor Liaison), Terry Thene (Park Maintenance) l. Call to Order: 6:00 p.m. ll. Approval of Minutes: Approved lll. Approval of Agenda: Approved lV Treasurers Report Lori Bartlett, City Finance Director, attended to walk through details of the report with the Board. Details of projects and funding through 2021 were tentatively planned. Millstream: Future plans may include playground equipment (using the location of the old shelter), Performance Stage and Phase 2 of the Dog Park. Northland: Add a trail around the park Klinefelter: Bathroom facility and gazebo with trail Wobegon Trail: No plan at this time Memorial Park: Possible Ga Ga Ball and Pickle Ball Courts Centennial Park: Nothing scheduled Monument Park: Possible repairs Hollow Park: Name to be etched in boulder Cloverdale: complete East Park: Initial plan would include expanding parking lot, and a dock or some form of launch area for canoes. V. 2018 Budget Discussion was held regarding the above projects. VI. Liaison Reports Matt Killam: Matt informed the Board of budget information Terry Thene: The crew is busy winterizing and finishing mowing for the season. Vl. Old Business: A. Millstream Building Tour Those attending agreed that the appearance of the building, both inside and out, look great. It will be a very adequate space for gatherings. The view from the outside picnic area is spectacular. B. Summer Recreation 2018 Dist. 742 Community Ed. Judy is waiting to hear from District 742 so we can form a committee to work on planning. C. Dog Park Usage Report and Grand Opening Report The dog park is being frequently used. The Grand Opening was well attended, with donors invited. D. Initiative Foundation Grant-Planning East Park Lori Bartlett is working on this. E. Other Old Business None Vll. New Business: A. Re-naming East Park-a citizen-involved process Discussion concluded that planning stage should begin before considering a new name. B. Grand Opening of Millstream Shelter th The November 27 meeting will be held at the Millstream Shelter and will include the Grand Opening. Hot chocolate may be provided. The Newsleader will be contacted to advertise the event and a note will be added to the Utility Bill. The Lions will be asked to do the Flag Raising. C. Wobegon Trail Update The paving process has begun. New trails will open in the spring. D. Other New Business None Vlll. Adjournment: 7:16
