The plans were approved for construction as submitted. Recently, the MDH visited WTP #1 to conduct a routine sanitary survey. During the sanitary survey, MDH staff requested piping modifications be made to a recycle piping system that is planned to be installed as part of the WTP #1 project. SEH met with City staff at WTP #1 to determine the best solution moving forward to satisfy the request of the MDH and requested a proposal from RLCG to complete the work. The proposal to complete the piping modifications is attached, and staff recommend acceptance. Description of proposed modifications: During the City's recent sanitary survey inspection by the Department of Health, they had concernsrelated to the connection between the HSP discharge and the backwash water reclaim line. In order to prevent potential solids from settling into the recycle piping (from HSPs to reclaim line) it was requested to rotate the connecting tee to provide a top outlet, install an additional 90-degree bend, and then connect as planned. This change will require: One (1) additional 90-degree bend. One (1) additional length of spool pipe to account for the up-turned tee and the addition of the 90.
