BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council has approved the same outdoor request since 2015
and the event has occurred without incident.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Sal’s Bar has applied for an outdoor event on June 23, 2018, from 7:00
PM to 11:00 PM. The Ordinance requires a public hearing for music events that extend beyond 8:00 PM
and allows the music to go until midnight. The application has been reviewed by the Police Chief with
the following recommendations: double fencing covering the parking area; hiring of 1 full time officer,
alley to be barricaded; music will end by 11 PM and the grounds to be cleaned no later than 8:00 AM
June 24, 2018.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: Sal’s Bar is responsible for the wages of the officers

Administrator The St. Joseph City Council shall conduct a pubiic hearing on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 6:00
PM at the St. Joseph Government Center. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the

wishing to be heard will be heard and oral testimony will be limited to five minutes. Written
testimony can be mailed to the City Administrator, 75 Callaway St E, St. Joseph, MN 56374.
