adopted the 5-year capital equipment plan proposed by the Park Board on 12/4/17.
PREVIOUS PARK BOARD ACTION: The Park Board set the Millstream Park play equipment as a
high priority project for 2018. The Board suggested toddler to teen equipment. Staff brought two quotes
to the March meeting. The Board requested further information before approval.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Attached are two quotes for play equipment. The NVB
Playgrounds quote is $31,232.50 with installation and delivery. The Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground
quote is $40,000 with installation and delivery. Pictures of the equipment are attached. Both playsets are
approved equipment under the City’s insurance policy.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: up to $40,000 for 2018

Equipment ships via freight from IN by appointment for delivery. Customer is responsible to unload
shipment.
Border quantity based off of smallest usable area for Brooks Towers and 9ft Top Rail Swing - 1 Bay.
Borders to cover 216 linear feet. (Safety Zone - 68ft x 40ft)
All mulch sales are final. Mulch is nonrefundable and nonreturnable. Customer is responsible to unload
shipment. Fork truck recommended on site during time of unload.

Installation to include labor, tools, and material required to install above quoted items. Assumes site
has normal soil conditions.* Does not include removal of structures or clearing of site. Does not include
relocation of utilities, fencing, or landscaping. Quote does not include safety surfacing or border

Area must be
accessible to a Bobcat. A 10 yard minimum dumpster is required to be onsite at time of installation.
Dumpster must be free of debris so that installer can dispose of waste. If dumpster does not meet
these requirements, installer will leave empty crate(s) next to dumpster and customer will be
responsible to dispose of waste themselves. Installer must have access to water for installation
purposes. If water access is not readily available, an additional $150 fee will apply. Security is not
provided.
* In the event unforeseen excavation is required, additional charges will be incurred.
* NVB Playgrounds, Inc. is not responsible for acquiring local or state permits.
