It was last repainted in 2008, with the thought of having it done every 8 years at an estimated cost of $7,000.00. The Fire Chief has gotten a quote from Mark’s Wallcoating to repaint all the red areas or the fire hall. They also suggested that we seal the exterior walls to help preserve them longer. We currently have $10,450.00 in account # 42280-530, which is set up for the painting of the fire hall.) At our February meeting, the board requested a second quote. The fire chief was able to get a quote from “Above and Beyond Painting” at a cost of $8,000.00. Compare this to Mark’s quote of $14,835.00, Above and Beyond is $6,835 less. The product he’ll be using is multi surface acrylic. Bill said at least 4 years it should last. Sherwin gives a satisfaction guarantee. Just for materials. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $8,000.00 to $14,835 for the Red Paint ($10,900.00 for the seal coating) ATTACHMENTS: Yes REQUESTED ACTION: Have the fire board approve the painting of the red exterior parts of the building.
