BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The Park Board received quotes
from PlaygroundEquipment.com and Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground Equipment to replace the play
equipment in Millstream Park. The Park Board recommends acceptance of the quote from
PlaygroundEquipment.com in the amount of $31,232.50 plus approximately eight Public Works staff
hours to work with the company and reinstall the swing set.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Council adopted the Park Board five year CIP that included
$40,000 for playground equipment in Millstream Park in 2018.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The old playset and swing in Millstream Park were removed to
build the new pavilion. The swing set was stored for reinstallation after completion of the pavilion. The
old equipment no longer met safety codes and was recycled. The Park Board reviewed two quotes for
play equipment for ages 5-preteen. Both companies are approved through the LMC insurance. Attached
are the two quotes along with a picture of the play equipment.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $ 31,232.50 plus up to 8 PW hours from Park Dedication fees.
Total estimated cost is $32,000.00.
