The crew is extremely busy right now. The official opening of the shelters will be May 1. The

Attending another meeting.
Vl. Old Business:
A. Update on Comm. Ed. Summer Recreation:
John and Judy attended a meeting with District 742 Community Ed. They were receptive
to helping us. A survey was compiled to help them understand our needs.
B. Millstream Park Play Equipment:
The Board reviewed the current bid. The cost is close to our estimated dollar amount.
Discussion was held regarding the placement of the equipment, as well as whether to
order it this year or wait a year. A motion was made proposing the purchase of “Brooks
Towers” at a cost of $31,232.50, with additional funds for approximately 8 hours of the
th
City Crew. The motion was accepted. This will go before the City Council on May 7.
C. Moving Forward on East Park:
The survey is currently on the City Website and will remain there until mid-May. John
suggested a slightly larger space for written comments. A reminder for residents to
complete the survey will be in the Newsleader and enclosed with the Utility Bill.
D. Other Old Business: None
Vll. New Business:
A. Recreation Needs Survey:
Discussed in update on Comm. Ed. Summer Recreation.
B. Pickle ball Options:
A suggestion was made to use the tennis courts behind the old Kennedy building. Wind
screens would be needed at that location. It was agreed that if an outside location is
chosen, we need to re-budget for the cost of wind screens. An inside option could be the
gym at the old Kennedy building. Ideally, it would be favorable to offer both inside and
outside options. Discussion will continue after John learns about the current use of the
gym.
C. Access to Millstream During Road Construction Project:
Access will remain open during the project.
Vlll. Adjournment: 6:42
