BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council executed an agreement with Republic Service for
refuse and recycling for a three year period, starting in 2018 and ending in 2020.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Republic Service has provided information regarding the impact of
China’s decision to not accept recycling material. Information will be presented at the Council meeting.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: Potential impact on rates
