Call to Order: 6:00 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes: Approved 3. Approval of Agenda: Approved 4. Liaison Reports: A. Mayor Schultz The Council appointed Anne Buckvold as a new City Council Member. The City declared June st 1 as National Gun Violence Awareness day. The refuge company has asked not to continue curb-side clean-up days. Research will be done to determine an alternative. The community group involved in the Community Center will meet to transition the Academy into a Community Center. B. Terry Thene: The crew is busy cleaning up after the recent wind storm. Damage to the parks included several large oak trees down in Klinefelter, an ash tree fell in Cloverdale and many branches are down at Millstream Park. They are struggling to keep everything mowed. A seasonal worker has been hired to help the crew. 5. Old Business: A. Survey Results from SEH and Discussion: Bob Kost, representing SEH, attended the meeting and summarized the online survey for public input of East Park. In general, the survey results aligned with the Park Board’s vision for the new park. While Disc Golf was rated high throughout the survey, the board hesitates installing a new course in Phase 1 of the project. While usage is constant, maintenance and clean-up needs are high at the Millstream course and participation in these duties from clubs and groups using it are low. Other activities most favored involved walking and biking. SEH have compiled the survey results and created a concept plan. Phase 1 would include Meadow Restoration, Reforestation and Passive Recreation. Disc Golf may be a possibility in the future. The Master Plan will leave options open for future needs. A suggestion was made to begin a tree nursery with small trees from the DNR, to be used throughout the site as they grow. Bob and the team at SEH will refine/rework the original plan to include new program information and wants. Once this is complete, the new plan will be presented for our approval. B. Installation Report on Playground at Millstream: The equipment has arrived. We are waiting for the company to do the installation. Discussion was held regarding extending the parking lot, so individuals stop using the single lane road for parking. C. Other Old Business: None 6. New Business: None 7. Adjournment: 7:25
