Members Present: John Anderson(Chairman),Marguerite Fogarty(Secretary),Andrew Deuhs,
Jodi Keehr,Terry Thene(Staff Liaison),Sharon Rennie,Rick Schultz(City Council)
Presentation of the East Park Plan and Public Input:
John shared the potential plan for the park.Kathy Doyle, a resident of the community,joined the
meeting. Her question was whether bike racks would be available for those who wish to bike to
the park and then walk the trails.John said that bike racks could be available so people could
secure their bikes while walking.

4. Treasurers Report:
Lori Bartlett has moved$ forward into the new budget. The biggest project is East Park. Grants
are being researched for this Park.Having a concept plan will be favorable in the application.
Another consideration in the budget are the proposed Pickle Ball Courts.
Discussion was held regarding an improved Skate Park.The budget needs for this should be
discussed before November for the Capital Budget. It was decided that we will examine dollar
amounts needed for a Skate Park before approving the proposed budget.John will research and
determine an estimate for equipment.We will discuss a location later.
The budget will be discussed at the October Meeting.
5.Liaison Reports:
A.Rick Schultz
The preliminary budget was approved.
B.Terry Thene:
The crew is busy with end of season preparations.
This Wednesday and Thursday"Waterfest"will be held at Millstream Park. "Waterfest" is a very
popular activity to educate children on water and conservation.
The Millstream Shelter continues to be very busy.
6.Old Business:
A.Natural Grasses and Tree Planting East Park:
Terry is working on acquiring a quote for prairie grass seeding. Trees can be ordered October 15,
arriving in April.
B.Pickleball Plans:
John has laid out courts.Pickleball lessons begin in early October. Our next meeting could be
held in the Community Center.
C.Recreation in Community Center Fall 2018:
Some classes are beginning now.
D. Other Old Business:
None.
7.New Business:
A. Open hours-staffing for community center:
The plan is for the center to be open one night a week and Saturdays.
Judy has contacted SJU and CSB to have college students monitor the activities.
