AGENDA ITEM: Officer Pay—Tables from November 2018 meeting
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At the November2018 meeting,we discussed the possibility of raising
the pay for out officers. The Fire chief was able to obtain some of the pay scales and call volume from
others departments to see where St.Joe matches up. After looking at the numbers and talking with our
department, I would like to see the Fire Chief moved from$3500 to$6000 per year,the Assistant go
from$2500 to$3500 per year,the Captains stay at$1000, and the Secretary go from$300 to$500 per
year. The last raise was in 2008.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $3,700 per year
ATTACHMENTS: yes
REQUESTED ACTION: Have the Fire Board approve the pay raise to the officers as noted.
