transcription software for the police department at a maximum cost of$ 3,808.75

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Police Department has been using a transcription program
entitled icrime fighter. The program does not work well with some of the equipment we have and their
have been issues with the transcription program causing Mary Beth to use a tape recorder to transcribe,
slowing down the process. Additionally,Microsoft is discontinuing Windows 7 at the end of the year and
the City will have to convert the computers and Icrime fighter does not work on Windows 10. In looking
at options,the City of St. Cloud has switched to a program entitled Winscribe which is used by many
other agencies. The program is user friendly and has the ability to work with cameras in the interview
room which is phase two of the project and will also work with body cameras if the City moves to that
direction.
The City is part of the fiber to St. Cloud and the City has the opportunity to partner with St. Cloud saving
some of the programing costs.
The annual cost of the program is identical to the icrime fighter.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $ 3,808.75
