HomeMy WebLinkAbout[06] AED SavesStation Request Council Agenda Item 6 MEETING DATE: September 5, 2019 AGENDA ITEM: AED SaveStation Request SUBMITTED BY: Administration BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: N/A PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council previously approved funding for the installation of 5 SaveStations throughout the City. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Joel Voegel and Rich Feneis previously approached the Council to request funding for 5 SaveStations throughout the City. The Council approved the request at their June 3, 2019 meeting. Because of the generous donation by Audrey Twit, 4 of the 5 SaveStations were funded. Additionally City received a grant from Centracare for 5 AEDs to be placed in those stations. Since four of the five SaveStations were donated, Voegel and Feneis have requested that the City consider funding 4 additional stations. Included is a map showing the current SaveStation locations. The potential 4 new locations include: Klinefelter Park, Memorial Park/Baseball Field, Kennedy School, and Northland Park. Directional signs are also beneficial in helping people locate the SaveStations. Included in the request is $500 for signs to be in the area of the SaveStations. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $11,180 (4 stations/$2,795 each) $500.00 for signage ATTACHMENTS: Request for Council action Map of current SaveStation locations Map of all AEDs in St. Joseph REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Approve the purchase of 4 AED SaveStations at a cost of $2,795 each and directional signage for an amount not to exceed $500.00.
