HomeMy WebLinkAbout[05] Public Hearing, Outdoor Event - Rocktoberfest Council Agenda Item 5 MEETING DATE: September 16, 2019 AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing - Outdoor Liquor Event, Rocktoberfest SUBMITTED BY: Administration/Police BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: At the August 19, 2019 meeting, the Council authorized the execution of the Outdoor Permit pending the outcome of the public hearing with the conditions identified by the Chief of Police. The City Council has previously approved outdoor requests from the St Joseph Booster Club and the event has occurred without incident. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The St Joseph Booster Club has applied for an outdoor event on September 28, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The Ordinance requires a public hearing for music events that extend beyond 10:00 PM and allows the music to go until midnight. The application has been reviewed by the Police Chief with the following recommendations: perimeter fencing; hiring of 1 off-duty officer; music will end by 11 PM. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: St Joseph Booster Club is responsible for the wages of the officer ATTACHMENTS: Request for Council Action Public Hearing Notice Application REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the Mayor and Administrator to execute the Outdoor Permit pending the outcome of the hearing with the conditions identified by the Police Chief for an event to be held on September 28, 2019. JOSEPH www.cityofstjoseph.com City of St.Joseph Public Hearing Outdoor Special Event Administrator The St.Joseph City Council shall conduct a public hearing on Monday,September 16, 2019 at Kris Ambuehl 6:00 PM or shortly thereafter at the St.Joseph Government Center, 75 Callaway St E. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the issuance of an outdoor special event license on Saturday,September 28,2019 for the St.Joseph Booster Club. The event will include outdoor Mayor music starting at 4:00 PM,ending at 11:00 PM and will take place in the parking lot in front of Heritage Hall,32 Minnesota St W. All persons wishing to be heard will be heard and oral Rick Schultz testimony will be limited to five minutes. Written testimony can be mailed to the City Administrator, 75 Callaway St E,St.Joseph, MN 56374.
