BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Change Order No. 1: 2019 Bituminous Street and CIP Improvements
Following the project award, an amended (reduced) unit price was negotiated with the general contractor for two
pavement marking bid items on the base bid that resulted in a savings to the City.
During construction of the new sanitary sewer at the intersection of Old Highway 52 and Cypress Drive, the existing
water main on Cypress Drive was uncovered, and it was determined the water main would interfere with the
proposed sanitary sewer alignment. Reconstruction of a section of the existing water main was necessary to facilitate
the new sanitary sewer construction and to comply with the separation requirements as defined by the
Recommended Standards for Wastewater Facilities and the Recommended Standards for Water Works 10-State
Standards.
Given the recent renovations of the former City Hall property on West Ash Street, the existing concrete walk and
driveway apron west of College Avenue do not serve a purpose. The concrete walk and the driveway apron are not
compliant with ADA standards; therefore, the existing concrete flatwork was removed and the boulevard will be
restored with turf.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: The construction contract amount will decrease by $2,587.75.

You are directed to make the following changes in the Contract Documents:
Description:
1. Add the following Work:
a. Remove 71-feet of 6-inch water main on Cypress Drive from Station 8+09 to Station 8+75
and reconstruct 64-feet of 6-inch water main and reconnect to the water main on Old
Highway 52 approximately 16-feet left of the existing connection.
b. Remove and replace 45-feet of curb & gutter, remove 12 square yards concrete driveway
apron, and remove 21 square yards of concrete walk from Station 128+71 to Station
129+16 LT on W Ash Street.
2. Unit price change for the following bid items:
a. Item No. 80 – 2582.503 - 4” Solid Line Multi Comp Gr In - $5.00 Per LF (-$2.75 Per LF
Deduct).
b. Item No. 82 – 2582.518 - Crosswalk Multi Comp Gr In - $12.50 Per SF (-$7.50 Per SF
Deduct).
