AGENDA ITEM: Liquor License – Requested Action: Authorize an on-sale and
off-sale liquor license for Krewe Restaurant.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Krewe Restaurant has made application to sell liquor. Per City
Ordinance, only six establishments are allowed to sell on-sale. Additional requests can be approved by
the Council by Resolution.

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Approve the off-sale liquor license and authorize the Mayor and
Administrator to execute Resolution 2019-065 approving on-sale liquor license for Krewe Restaurant.
RESOLUTION 2019-065
APPROVING ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE FOR KREWE RESTAURANT
WHEREAS:
1. Section 701.19: LIMITATION OF ON SALE LIQUOR LICENSE limits the number of on
sale liquor licenses in the City to six; and
2. A liquor license in excess of six may be permitted by resolution of the Council if the entity
seeking the license is a restaurant and the entity complies with the requirements established in
operating a restaurant under Minnesota Statute; and
3. The City of St. Joseph currently has
4. Krewe Restaurant submitted an application for an on sale liquor license.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as follows:
1. The Mayor and Administrator are authorized to approve the on-sale liquor license for Krewe
Restaurant.
