HomeMy WebLinkAbout[09a] Administration ReportKRIS AMBUEHL CITY ADMINISTRATOR 75 Callaway Street East St Joseph, MN 56374 kambuehl@cityofstjoseph.com ADMINISTRATION REPORT TO: HONERABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: November 15, 2019 SUMMARY Met with historical society to discuss their current needs and space requirements at the community center. Council Member Buckvold, Loso and myself attended Joint Cites meeting on legislative priorities. The League of Minnesota Cities staff members talked about priorities in the upcoming session and anticipated bills that may affect the city. Staff received training for the ARGIS mapping software from SEH staff. Met with college and law enforcement officials to discuss ongoing events and strategies to avoid college student and resident disturbances. Therese and I attended GSDC annual meeting in St Cloud. Officials from the City of th Willmar toured our City Hall On November 6. They are in the process of building a new facility, and came to th get ideas. Attended the 4 quarter St Joseph Fire Board meeting. Discussed upcoming CIP plans for trucks. Met with CSBSJU college students to discuss fraud prevention. STAFF Meet with multiple staff members for initial development and expectations. Conducted interviews and hired for the open finance tech position. Interviewed and filled the open custodian position. Met with City of St Joseph department heads. Oman Insurance met with city staff to present the layout of health insurance plans. Personal Committee met to discuss the compensations study results and personnel policy. UPCOMING MEETINGS & EVENTS Will be finishing up remaining employee initial meetings and then moving into meetings with th departments heads. On November 26 both Unions will present their contract proposals to the Personnel Committee for review. The Personnel Committee will discuss and recommend action to council. Invited concerned citizens to meet to discuss the college student disturbances on Ash Street. -KRIS
