BACKGROUND INFORMATION: District 742, Adult Basic Education, has requested space at the
community center for 2-3 classes per week. Teachers work with adult students from the St Joseph area to
teach various classes. Room 129 (299 sq. ft.) is available at the Community Center. This room is close to
the adult/teachers bathrooms and door 2 near the parking area.
Community Education does not charge a fee for the class. They do not have a current budget to rent the
space. They can use Kennedy Elementary in the evening but are unable to during the day. They would
like to use the space for the remaining school year, and reevaluate for the upcoming school year after
summer session.

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the Mayor and Administrator to allow District 742,
Adult Basic Education to use room 129 at the St Joseph Community Center for classes.
