HomeMy WebLinkAbout[05c] Finance Report LORI BARTLETT FINANCE DIRECTOR 75 Callaway Street East St Joseph, MN 56374 lbartlett@cityofstjoseph.com FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: January 16, 2020 SUMMARY The Finance Department has been completing required reporting for federal, state and county regarding payroll, budget, debt, IRS and miscellaneous reports. All paid employees should have received W-2s in the mail. Audit prep has begun and keeping the Finance department busy this winter. th Nov/Dec utility bills and newsletter were mailed Jan. 10. The new rates will be billed in March. Staff working on importing and testing new rates. Finance working with Public Works to reconcile billed versus pumped usage for 2019. The reconciled numbers are needed for the DNR report and for the audit. nd The 2020 park scheduling opened Jan. 2. Many people book as early as they can to reserve the dates they desire for their events. Finance assisting Administrator with negotiations and rolling out the 2020 health insurance plans. Also assisted Public Works with scheduling ice rink attendants. Open gym schedule is updated through mid-March. Required safety training completed. The 2020 schedule updated through the spring. Remaining topics will be determined at the next regional safety committee meeting. The finance software, Banyon, received a major version upgrade in 2019. Finance has been working through the changes. STAFF Meet bi-weekly with staff to go over current and upcoming tasks and discuss any issues that have come up. Hannah has come in and hit the ground running. Year-end reports and audit prep are keeping Finance personnel very busy. UPCOMING MEETINGS & EVENTS Audit Dates: Feb 6 – preliminary audit fieldwork, March 16-20 – audit fieldwork. Note: The City will have a single audit for 2019 due to receiving over $750,000 in federal grants and aids. Pay Equity reporting due by 1/31/20. Work Flow software implementation planned for the spring. -LORI
