PUBLIC WORKS REPORT
TO: HONERABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
DATE: January 17, 2020
SUMMARY
Working with residents on concerns about snow removal and other issues that arise. Acquiring updated
quotes on proposed equipment replacements. Training the custodian on a wide variety of task and equipment.
Mandatory safety training has been completed on CPR, AWAIR and Right to Know. Three staff have been sent
to a two-day boiler school and will be testing in the future.
STAFF
Public Works has been working on snow plowing equipment maintenance and repairs, building maintenance
and repairs. Water meter repairs and re-reads have been completed, Bi-monthly meter readings have been
completed, delinquent utility services have been addressed. Water and Sewer checks have been completed
daily, City rental spaces have been checked and maintained for the next rentals. GSOC tickets have been
worked on as required. The boilers at the community center are up and running again.
UPCOMING MEETINGS & EVENTS
Staff is preparing for annual reports required by the MPCA, EPA, MDOH, DNR. Snow seems to be a regular
occurrence.
