POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT
TO: HONERABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
DATE: January 17, 2020
SUMMARY
COLD, SNOW, Holidays and Christmas Break. That leads to a quiet time around the PD. During the Month of
December, we used ICRS 3049 to 3303 for a total of 254. Ironically that is the exact number of ICRS used in
December of 2018 which was also 254. As opposed to 245 ICRS in December of 2017 and 190 ICRS in 2016.
We continue to respond to calls for assistance such as frequent medicals and fingerprinting. I look forward to
getting up to full staff where we can start enforcing traffic on more of a regular basis again.
STAFF
Two officers have applied for the internal position of Sergeant and are in the process of lining up interview
times. The goal is to have the Sergeant up and running shortly so we are at full staff and transition before things
pick up with student traffic in Spring.
UPCOMING MEETINGS & EVENTS
th
Students returned to school at the College on January 13, 2020. PD will be going through Mental Health
Crisis Training at the end of the month. I was able to locate free training hosted by Waite Park and will be 8 hrs
training towards the 16 hrs required by the MN Post Board every 3 years. The training will be offered on
thth
January 25 and February 12 so that half the PD can attend one training and the other half will attend the other
session without any OT accrued.
