HomeMy WebLinkAbout[04m] Off-Site Gambling Request Council Agenda Item 4m MEETING DATE: January 21, 2020 AGENDA ITEM: Off-Site Gambling Request SUBMITTED BY: Administration BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Council must review and accept gambling permits that will allow lawful gambling at specific sites. The St. Joseph Lions has submitted a request to conduct lawful gambling at Sal’s Bar and Grill on April 10, 2020. Staff will monitor the required quarterly contributions to assure that the 10% contribution is satisfied. The St. Joseph Lions have historically exceeded the contribution requirement. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: ATTACHMENTS: Resolution 2020-003 Gambling Application REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the Mayor and Administrator to execute Resolution 2020-03 approving the off-site gambling request submitted by St. Joseph Lions for an event to be held on April 10, 2020 at Sal’s Bar and Grill. RESOLUTION 2020-003 APPROVING APPLICATION TO CONDUCT OFF-SITE GAMBLING FOR ST. JOSEPH LIONS WHEREAS, Ordinance 602 of the St. Joseph Code of Ordinances outlines the regulations regarding lawful gambling activities; and WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Lions has submitted the required application; and WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Lions has historically complied with all the requirements of Ordinance 602 of the St. Joseph Code of Ordinances.
