FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL

SUMMARY
The Finance Department completed year end reporting required by federal and state laws. Workpapers
th
and adjustments for the audit are on-going. Preliminary audit work was completed on Feb. 6. The regular
th
fieldwork is scheduled the week of March 16.
Mary is assisting public works with state reporting and reconciling the usage numbers compared to
billed. We also updated a couple spreadsheets to ease data input in the future. Staff also provided sewer use
history to the engineer.
Hannah is training with the police department to back up Mary Beth on some tasks. The required BCA
training was completed by Hannah and Lori.
Elections: training almost completed for finance personnel. Mary is assisting with coordinating efforts.
Mary assisted Krewe with their liquor licenses.
Hannah coordinates required OSHA training.
Lori requested grant reimbursements
STAFF
Finance is very busy getting ready for the audit and assisting with elections. We meet bi-weekly going
over schedules and upcoming events. Hannah attended payroll tax training and BCA webinar. Lori attended
capital project funding options lunch and learn at S.E.H. Lori also completed webinars for data practices and
BCA.

Audit Dates: Audit fieldwork, March 16-20 – audit fieldwork.

Presidential Primary Nomination election March 3, early voting at city hall starts Feb 25.
