The City has received a request from a current Mobile Food license holder to allow their 40ft truck to operate in the City limits of St Joseph. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: N/A ATTACHMENTS: Request letter from Lily’s Wings REQUESTED BOARD ACTION: Discussion February 12, 2020 Attention City of St. Joseph Council Members: I am writing to request the City of St Joseph make an amendment to the current city ordinance regarding length of mobile food units within the city. It is my understanding that the current ordinance limits the length of vehicles to 25 feet. Lily’s has two standard size food trucks (20ft) and one Mobile Restaurant (40ft). Our Mobile Restaurant is a converted city transit bus that has 20 ft of commercial kitchen and limited onboard dining for up to twelve guests in the rear. Our 40ft unit allows us to operate in any weather conditions. I am requesting an increase to 40ft so we can accommodate current requests from local businesses within the city of St. Joseph. I have attached a copy of the amendment the City of Monticello adopted February 25, 2019 to accommodate our mobile unit for their local businesses. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me directly on my cell phone at 320-492- 4097. Respectfully Submitted, Steven Ehlen Co-Owner, Lily’s Wings, LLC.
