BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council has previously approved outdoor
requests from the La Playette.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The La Playette has applied for an outdoor event on
August 28, 2020 from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The Ordinance requires a public hearing for music
events that extend beyond 9:30 PM and allows the music to go until midnight. The application
has been reviewed by the Police Chief with the following recommendations: 1 off-duty officer to
roam inside; La Playette staff to control alcohol in and out of entrances.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: La Playette is responsible for the wages of the officer.

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the Mayor and Administrator to execute the
Outdoor Permit with the conditions identified by the Police Chief for an event to be held on
August 28, 2020 at the La Playette.
