HomeMy WebLinkAbout[03] 2020 Feb 10 MinutesFebruary 10, 2020 Page 1 of 1 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning Commission for the City of St. Joseph met in regular session on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the St. Joseph City Hall opening with the Pledge of Allegiance. Planning Commission Members Present: Commissioners, Gina Dullinger, Matt Johnson, Steve Olson, Mike Ross, Brian Theisen, Community Development Director Therese Haffner Members Absent: Chad Hausmann Others Present: Anne Jarrell Approval of the Agenda: Dullinger made a motion to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded by Ross and passed unanimously. Introductions of Members: Introductions were made. Election of Officers: Johnson made a motion to appoint Hausmann as Chairperson for 2020 and Dullinger as Vice Chairperson for 2020. The motion was seconded by Theisen and passed unanimously. Approval of the Minutes: Olson noted he did not second the motion under Approval of Minutes of December 9, 2019. Haffner will view meeting recording. Dullinger made a motion to approve the minutes of December 9, 2019 as amended. The motion was seconded by Olson and passed unanimously. New Business a. Special Home Occupation Permit, Cherrico Pottery Haffner presented the request for approval of a special home occupation by Joel Cherrico and Sienna Cherrico to operate their pottery business in the detached garage at 29055 CR 121 with one full-time employee and two part-time employees. Haffner said in reviewing and granting a home occupation permit, a finding must be made that the home occupation is secondary/incidental to the principal use as a residential home and recommended approval. Johnson made a motion to adopting Resolution 2020-001 Approving the Special Home Occupation Permit for an Art Studio at 29055 CR 121. The motion was seconded by Olson and passed unanimously. Other Business: a. Comprehensive Plan Update Haffner shared the Implementation Section of the City Comprehensive Plan. Haffner said in the coming months they will review implementation, including what has been done and items to work on. b. Council Liaison Report Theisen reported the City discussed the 20th Avenue SE improvements. Adjourn: Dullinger moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:17 PM.
