BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Change Order No. 2: 2019 Bituminous Street and CIP Improvements
In the course of executing the water main reconstruction work ordered by Change Order #1, the
Contractor uncovered the existing water service for #309 Cypress Dr, and the water service
needed to be reconstructed in conjunction with the water main relocation. The existing water
service was originally constructed deeper than it would normally be, and beneath the existing
concrete driveway. Reconstruction required additional time and effort to complete as needed.
Additionally, a 2-inch water service was replaced to #300/#304 Old Highway 52 in the same
intersection vicinity with the water main relocation and new sanitary sewer construction.
With the realignment of the sanitary sewer between Cypress Dr and Old Highway 52, the
existing sanitary sewer manhole behind #301 Birch Street could be abandoned with the sanitary
sewer. The abandonment of the manhole was added to the change order work.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: The construction contract amount will increase by
$5,520.90.
