STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the hire of Planning Intern
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City received seven applications for the Planning Intern

position and interviewed four candidates. The anticipated start date for the Planning Intern is May 18
through August with 25-30 hours per week. The Planning Intern will assist the Community Development
Director with planning and economic development tasks.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: The Planning Intern is a budgeted position for 2020 at $4,500.

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Approve the hire of Josh Storms in the temporary position of
Planning Intern at 15.00 per hour contingent on Background Check to be completed by the St. Joseph
Police Department.
