Site plan and building permit review are nearly complete. Construction planned to start in June. I drafted recommended amendments to the Rural Residential District. The Planning Commission reviewed those changes, provided input and ultimately recommended approving the amendments at their June meeting. The City Council will review in July. STAFF I have been working with our new Planning Intern Josh Storms on answering zoning questions and processing zoning and building permits. Josh completed research on short term rentals i.e. Airbnb’s and presented to the Planning Commission. He is reviewing the bicycle friendly community program/designation. Josh and I had a Zoom meeting with St. John’s Professor Matt Lindstrom and Allison Dudek with Stearns County Public Health to discuss partnering to add a parklet to our downtown. A SHIP grant would provide up to $1,000 for the cost.
