BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Housing and Development Authority of Stearns County is
submitting a Tax Credit application to Minnesota Housing for the substantial rehabilitation of 12 rental
units located in St. Joseph. The project is located at 125 10th Ave SE, and were originally built in 1993.
The application requires that the County sends a Notification of Local Official to each city in which a
project is being proposed. The Notification of Local Official is provided in the packet as well as a letter of
support from the City.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: None

Coun��lors The City of St. Joseph supports the Housing Tax Credit Application to MN Housing
and the rehabilitation of the twelve (12) affordable housing units by the Housing and
Anne Bu�k�old Redevelopment Authority of Stearns County (HRA). Reinvestment in housing assets
Troy Goracke within our community is a win for the City, the occupants and the HRA. The
B°b L°S° preservation of affordable housing is an important aspect of our community.

In Greater Minnesota, major housing issues include wage stagnation, renter cost
burden, and a need for more senior and workforce housing. Preservation of existing
affordable housing is one solution.
Let us continue to work together to contribute to the quality and health of our

Brief description of proposal:
Complete rehabilitation of the interior of each unit to include all new kitchens, appliances, plumbing fixtures, flooring, and
heating. Add central air conditioning systems, and replace all water heaters. All entry, storm and garage doors to be replaced.
