BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
Board authorized staff to conduct the survey at the April meeting.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Attached are the survey results for Hollow Park. Staff sent 79 direct mailings to residents within a 2-3
block radius of Hollow Park. To-date 11 responses have been received (14% response rate). Staff also
posted a notice at the park for the survey with a direct link. Please note one direct mailing was sent with
no reminder mailings to residents. The results (while not scientific) may provide a glimpse into common
concerns/suggestions. Highlights of the survey include:
Majority of respondents indicated they visit the park once a week
Respondents enjoy the park due to the playground and green space
Most respondents ranked the park a 3 out of 5
Respondents would like to see: 1. More places to sit and 2. more shade as the top two
improvements to the park (third was new playground)
Respondents emphasized the parks’ purpose is as a neighborhood park
Staff has left the survey open so residents who may be attending tonight’s meeting and have not taken the
survey may participate.
