JOSEPH PARK BOARD MEETING MINUTES • Meeting on April 26, 2021 • In attendance: Eli Stenman, Andy Rennecke, Abby Lyon, Nate Keller, Ryan Wensmann, Rick Schultz, Tim Rocky and Linda Butenhoff. 1. Meeting called to order at 6:32 p.m. 2. Treasury report is presented. Stenman moves to approve the budget. Buttenhoff seconds. 3. Schultz, acting as the liaison from the city council, reports on the status of the Millstream Festival. He announces that Millstream will do away with the one -day only festival in September and will instead start having entertainment beginning in June between Krewe and Bad Habit on Mondays in the summer. There will be eight total Mondays of entertainment. 4. Schultz also announces that the July 4 Parade will take place in 2021. 5. Keller announces that the next Park Board meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Hollow Park. Keller also said that the survey for what to do about the future of the park will be sent out in May. 6. Old business is brought up about the Klinefelter Park shelter project. Construction is still more likely to begin in 2022. Possible designs are discussed. The shelter has a budget of $441,000. 7. The July Park Board meeting will take place at Klinefelter at 6 p.m. 8. Tree planting will take place on May 29 at Klinefelter, the archery range, the dog park at Millstream and East Park. Ryan will provide the board with maps of where to plant. 9. A youth disc golf league is being started at Millstream. It is likely to run five to six weeks. 10. The Millstream Park softball fields remain an issue. Ideas continue to be a new skate park or eliminating one of the fields and just using one. 11. Keller provides a mountain bike park update. The board agrees that pushing the topic back to June is the best idea. 12. Lyon agrees to be the Park Board Liason to the Community Center board. 13. Keller is going to submit an application for East Park to become a designated Regional Park to the Greater Minnesota Park and Trail Commission. 14.
