a. Treasury report — Requested action: Approve the financial report
Staff: Juell reported for Keller on East Park that Regional designation was denied. It was said to be undersized.
We can try for a 50/50 matching grant up to'/z million dollars. We would like to focus on:
1. Parking 2. Kayak/canoe access 3. trails
Council: none present
Old Business:
Skate Park: Abby Lyon will help with this project. Location was discussed and decided that keeping it at
Memorial Park is the best place for it. Moving the ice rink farther into the parking lot.
Winterfest: The purpose is to get people out and active in the winter. The name will need to be Winterfest this
year since things were already published with this name and the medallion has this name also. Winterfest will
run from 11:00-2:00. At Memorial Park there will be sledding, skating, hot cocoa, smores and a bon fire.
Stenman is in charge of this event. If the medallion is found we will announce the winner and present the prize.
Rennecke will check with Stearns Bank, Sentry bank and Bad Habit for donations. Butenhoff will check with
Jupiter Moon for a donation and will take care of music at Memorial Park. Lyon will also attempt to get
donations for the smores and cocoa. At Klinefelter Park we will have snowshoes and cross-country skis for
people to try. Juell is in charge of this. Crafts and Face painting will be done outside next to Sisters and Co
unless it is too cold or too windy, then it will be done at the Government Center. CSB students will do this. The
local bars would like to be involved, but wanted to do a pub crawl. Board decided that if they did an activity we
could include them, but not promote a pub crawl.
New Business:
Prioritize Park funds: majority of board decided to leave funds as assigned
Book Walks: This idea was accepted and decided to move forward. Looking for old realtor sign stands or get an
organization involved in donating funds to purchase the signs and books. Klinefelter, Millstream, Cloverdale
Parks were discussed as good parks to do this. Rennecke will work on promotional fliers for events.
Tails on Trails: This idea was accepted and decided to move forward. Sled dog rides, Police K9 demonstration,
Doga and other activities will be going on Feb 27. Rennecke will work on promotional fliers.
Workout Signs: This idea was rejected. Decided that it would take away from the parks natural feel.
Contact WJON to promote events. Have a large poster put on the fence.
Adjourn: Stenman made a motion to adjourn at 7:30; seconded by Lyon and passed unanimously
