Residents of St. Joseph… With the advent of Labor Day, we now face busy fall schedules with students back at school, fall school activities and a need to be a bit more careful when traveling around town. I want to thank the Millstream Arts Group (Alison Bell, Jessie Chandler, Mary Degiovanni, Mary Niedenfuer, Ali- cia Peters, Thomasette Scheeler, Danielle Taylor and count- less others) for their commitment to this long-standing festi- val. It was a wonderful day, with many attending. Delmar and the Somali Dancers were amazing! The first day of fall is September 22 this year. There’s no better season for pleasant drives and winding road trips. With summer traffic clearing and fall color on the horizon, now’s the time to consider an autumn getaway to Kraemer Lake & Wildwood Park or St. Johns and Collegeville. Rock For Alzheimer’s was held on Sunday, September 11 at Bad Habit Brewing. Rock for Alzheimer's (R4A) was created by Jeff and Tommy Vee and the Linn Family in conjunction with the St. Cloud chapter of The Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota and North Dakota. R4A raises both funding and awareness for Alzheimer’s locally while giving the families and friends of Alzheimer’s patients the opportunity to listen to great music and share stories. Rocktoberfest is September 24th, beginning at 4PM in downtown St. Joseph. Come enjoy authentic craft German beer, food & entertainment in the beer hall. This is a family friendly community building event. Just around the corner is Halloween and its fun, festive activities for kids as well as adults. So many fun things to participate in and enjoy. Mayor Rick Schultz Water Meter Replacement Program—Coming Soon! This September, the City will be implementing a man- datory water meter replacement program. This pro- gram will be conducted in phases over the next several years. The replacement takes approximately 25 to 45 minutes and there is no cost to the homeowner. Most water meters were installed in 2008, and are nearing the end of their lifespan. The new water meter system includes additional functionality allowing residents to monitor their use via a smart phone app or computer, helping residents to conserve water and save on their water bills. This functionality will also add in new effi- ciencies for the City. The City’s contractor, Midwest Testing, will be installing the meters. Notifications will be mailed and will include further details and instruc- tions for scheduling appointments. Information will also be posted on our website.
