Residents of St. Joseph…
I was happy to see so many families come out to the St. Jo-
seph Fire Department Safety Fair. Our department is first-
class whose primary purpose is to serve and protect our com-
munity. We are lucky to have such members in our midst.
I want to thank and congratulate local voices, Mary Bruno
and former College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s Uni-
versity history professor Annette Atkins for representing St.
Joseph at the fifth annual TEDxStCloud. This year ’s theme
was, “ideas worth spreading—the opportunity to gather, to
thoughtfully consider new ideas, and to address together the
challenges we face growing as individuals and as a communi-
ty.”
Veterans Day was November 11th. Thank you veterans for
your patriotism, your love for our country, and your willing-
ness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. The Veter-
ans Crisis Line is a great source of support. It is a free, confi-
dential resource that’s available to anyone, even if you’re not
registered with VA or enrolled in VA health care. If you are a
Veteran in crisis or concerned about one, the Veterans Crisis
Line is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255.
School has started, leaves are falling, and the Public Works
Department will be pulling the plows out of storage pretty
soon….oi. This time last year we had 7 inches of snow on the
ground. As the City is gearing up for colder weather, I encour-
age residents to do the same.
With the holiday season fast approaching, we will soon see
advertisements for the Shop Small Crawl, SnowFest 2022,
and other holiday activities. Stay tuned!

Help Keep Our Water
DRINKABLE, FISHABLE, SWIMMABLE
What Can You Do?
Bagging, mulching, or composting your
leaves stops them from blowing into the
streets. This helps keep the storm drains
free of leaves, which pollute waterways
and can even cause localized flooding if
they form a clog. Be a good neighbor and
clear leaves out of the street.
